At a traffic signal, on a sunny day,
an Audi stopped next to an Atlas.
They smiled at each other with a
slight discomfort.
“Here you are again”, said Atlas, to
her old friend
To which she replied, “As if we’ll
ever be apart”.
Atlas, with a spark in her eyes,
said,
“I wish it were true. I wish we had the same
roads to take.”
“I think you’ll never be contented.
We’re next to each other
every now and then”, was Audi’s
reply.
“Next to each other, but lanes apart”,
said Atlas in despair.
The poem is so simple and yet so powerful. The last line really hits hard! This is what the chaos in one's life does at times, it pulls you away from things and people you love because of ego and other circumstances. The poem captures this is in a very conversation! Really great!
