Phrases of meek despair peeking underneath,
violets and lilacs, stunned, yet creeping underneath.
Your mouth full of inconsolable lies,
greed lacking regret silently seeping underneath.
Turquoise oceans drifting away from the shores,
my heart finds new waters for weeping, underneath.
Broken necklaces, our illusions are shattered,
stained pearls, afraid to shine, heaping underneath.
Crescent dimples darkening, turning into my frowns,
cracks of pain deepen, still leaping, underneath.
My evening walks on mossy regrets,
the moon looks over crying, as I lay sleeping, underneath.
Fragrance of gloom lingering through salt,
our cracked memories scattered, nostalgia peeping underneath.
My faith in frayed stories and heartbreaks,
moving on- others abandoned, I found hidden meaning, underneath.
moving on- others abandoned, I found hidden meaning, underneath.
I like how the initial verses have got colorful imagery and later that essence is lost and darkened.
ReplyDelete"Heart finds new waters for sinking, underneath" - Love this. It gave the feeling that the heart had sunk as much as it could and despite that it found new waters for sinking even further.
Cracks of pain deepen, overflowing, underneath. - Goes with the feeling of perpetual sinking above^^
Fragrances of salty gloom lingering through rooms :- I wonder what salty gloom would smell like. I like the metaphor of gloom as fragrance.
