The Heretic

Petals strewn upon the earth, the blessed of Jahannam applaud now.
Listen to the pained cries of broken children, isn’t that odd now?

The Book that taught you so well could not show the world how.
They couldn’t fix you, they gave up, they say you’re flawed now.

They took away your money, your life and your cow.
Pseudo- liberalists have got us awed now.

Disallowed, disavowed, no bough to rest under, a broken plough,

They lied to you so much, Rudra wonders, where is your God now?

  2. As far as the form of the ghazal is concerned there are but a few small errors but seeing as how someone's cow was taken away, they can be excused.

I can almost see this being booked for sedition and anti-nationalism as it's being performed. Needless to say, that's a measure of how well it's written and how relevant the themes are.

    1. I urge you to suggest how this may be made better. I felt a lacking in the third couplet too, but I couldn't get rid of it as it specifies the context. Is the major lacking in meter or flow? I can't see this objectively right now...
