Incomplete

I am traveling in the local train
with all the noises around me
all I can hear is silence.
Since you have gone
every place is silent without you

I am at a party in a club
with my friends and colleagues
still I am alone with them.
Since you have gone
every place is lonely without you

I am at a fancy restaurant
exchanging smiles with my date
but that smile is not mine.
Since you have gone
every place is depressing without you

I am lying on our bed
listening to our favorite song
so alone that I’m hugging my own shadow.
Since you have gone
every place is incomplete without you

I am at the forgotten cemetery
where I lay flowers down for you
and lie down beside you, my love
feel the warmth from your cold grave.
I feel complete with you

  1. Being alone even when you're among people... I think I get what you mean here.

  2. The last line of the poem stuck with me the most due to its relation with the title and with the last line of every stanza (which have a common theme and rhythm). Also every stanza begins to address a situation, and the repetition of that itself creates a beautiful impact. I feel though that some of the words use can be a little less literal just to get a more poetic impact. For example I really liked the use of "forgotten cemetery" because seems to signify more than just the fact the subject passed away a while ago.
