Don't have much to say about this city -
There's nothing poetic about it, really,
Half-formed roads, private schools,
rich landowners, the occasional yuppies in colony pools,
They’ve renamed it, put liquor bans,
Successfully lessened its few fans.
They’ve renamed it, put liquor bans,
Successfully lessened its few fans.
Its nothing special.
Not by the sea like Bombay,
Unlike Delhi, the roads are slight,
Unlike Delhi, the roads are slight,
A couple concrete fixtures,
(not many)twinkling lights,
(not many)twinkling lights,
Thekas at every corner,
Grew up eyeing them,
now I eye my glass - always a slow learner.
now I eye my glass - always a slow learner.
Yet,
I smile at Ambience Mall,
Breathe a sigh of relief on Exit 10
And realise i'm home,
When I see,
A sign in precise white letters,
It says,
Welcome to Gurugram.
Breathe a sigh of relief on Exit 10
And realise i'm home,
When I see,
A sign in precise white letters,
It says,
Welcome to Gurugram.
