You cannot fix
someone built on
broken bridges
tied together with
their swollen veins.
A slippery tongue
will roll out secrets
meant only for those
empty enough
empty enough
to keep them.
Shivering pale hands
cannot promise heat-
they bathe in lava,
sprinkle raw silver
through barren nights.
They’ll beg you to
sculpt their smiles-
fingers wet with tears,
but blame's on you
when they disappear.
