Hugging his packet to the chest
he started walking,
he knew the police wouldn't appear
to that night.
As he walked along,
he watched the wind wipe the houses and shops with the dust and the garage it swept off the roads.
He watched the trembling lamp posts
as if they finally felt the chill of the night,
the rattling sheets of metal and the banging windows, and the empty long streets free of dogs.
"What a night! Gods surely promise heavy rain," he said to himself and disappeared into the long, dark and dusty night.
